Dream Screen

My critical studies and close analysis of film as a powerfully persuasive medium have made me all the more aware of the hidden movies in our mind -- those unconscious audio-visual feedback loops that have such a hypnotic hold on us. In as much as we constantly project our subjectively inflected view onto the world, so can film simulate or mimic our perceptual and mental apprehension of reality.

The moving image is a carefully masked cinematic illusion that portrays the complexity of human psychological experience through a variety of seemingly invisible as well as highly stylized strategies. Similarly, unconscious belief systems as well as dreams are intricate mental edifices masking underlying deep-seated anxieties. Here my training in the psychoanalysis of audio-visual media has uniquely qualified me to discern and decode idiosyncratic ways of perceiving and making meaning taking into consideration an individual's formative history.
